The nights of 5 June 2005 and 18 March 2006, I obtained spectra of the dark sky over the wavelength interval 4000-9300A with at least reasonable signal. The night of 16 March 2006, similar spectra were obtained of the sky with the Moon nearly full (98%). The spectra were obtained with the Boller & Chivens spectrograph and the 300/4.30 grating in the blue and the 400/9.73 grating in the red. The spectra were calibrated in wavelength and flux and then normalized to a slit area of 1 square arcsecond. The following plots present the sky brightness as a function of wavelength, with the sky brightness in either intensity units or AB magnitudes. The separate spectra may be obtained from the following table.

The sky brightness (1 square arcsecond) in AB magnitudes as a function of wavelength. The dark sky spectra for 5 June 2005 (left) and 18 March 2006 (right) are very similar, differing by only ±0.15 mag in the continuum. These spectra agree with the variation in sky brightness at different lunar phases measured photometrically.
