MES-SPM (Manchester Echelle Spectrometer - San Pedro Mártir)
This high resolution nebular Echelle spectrograph has as main purpose to solve astrophysical problems which require studying spatially resolved line profiles with high signal to noise and high spectral resolution from extended sources and usually weak sources. This spectrograph was designed to use a IPCS (image photon counting system), which was replaced by a CCD. Currently it is controlled from a computer using an Atmel AT89C52 microcontroller which controls the seven motion axes.
